Explores why young students may resort to cheating. More importantly, it challenges viewers to consider their own values and integrity. Dramatic scenarios portray different types of cheating: a student copies a friend’s homework because she fears she doesn’t have enough time to do the work herself; a boy enhances his essay by plagiarizing articles on the Internet; a tennis player tries to avoid being cut from a team by falsely calling her opponent’s balls out; a high-achieving student must decide whether to give a popular student test answers as a sign of friendship. After each scenario, a moderator asks viewers about the characters’ choices, what the potential consequences are, and what values should be considered when making such choices.

Reviews
A diverse group of students explore various forms of cheating, what leads students to cheat, and ways to avoid it. Dramatized scenarios portray types of cheating including copying a friend's homework, plagiarism, cheating at a sport, and being pressured to share answers to a test. After each vignette, the student's choices and consequences are outlined by the moderator. Viewers are given valuable tools for resisting the pressure to cheat, such as asking teachers, guidance counselors, parents, or coaches for help; limiting extracurricular activities to avoid falling behind in school work; being up-front with teachers; following the rules; and understanding the values that are important to them. A PDF file of teacher resources is included. This engaging, contemporary presentation would be a useful starting point for class discussions.
