Learning About Cancer: Tommy's Story

This video features Tommy, a young boy who is recovering from cancer, and his animated friend CC, the Cancer Crusader. The program is designed to foster understanding and tolerance for young cancer patients returning to school. Viewers will learn age-appropriate information about living with cancer, its treatment and its cure. Viewers meet Tommy as he returns to school after undergoing chemotherapy. Tommy struggles to catch up with his classwork, wonders how kids will treat him, and worries that they won’t understand what cancer is. CC and Tommy teach viewers about the physical and psychological effects of cancer and its treatment.
