Learning Good Words for a Bad Mood

Program gently encourages children to realize that words are potent, and have the power to make others feel happy or hurt. Viewers will relish the singing and dancing antics of the Good Word Fairy—the hippest helper on the playground—and her magical Book of Good Words as they pop into several live-action vignettes to teach young children positive ways to express themselves instead of exploding into tears or hurtful words. Each story revolves around a different emotion: anger, sadness, frustration, jealousy and more. The Good Word Fairy reminds children to take a deep breath and think about what they are feeling before they react. Program models valuable communication skills such as using “I” statements and learning to be an active listener.
