Rainbow Valley Safety and Crime Prevention Series

RVPD Safety & Crime Prevention Series is a comprehensive public safety education DVD curriculum that teaches Pre-K through 3rd grade children critical life safety skills delivered in a fun, non-threatening and memorable way. Perfect for the safety education professional, S.R.O., counselor, classroom teacher, RVPD Safety & Crime Prevention Series combines colorful, cutting-edge 3D animation with live action video to equip children with basic personal and community safety skills.

In the Police Station Series, students will learn all about the inner workings of the police department, equipment and vehicles used to help "Protect and Serve" their community. In the Personal Safety Series, students will learn how to create a home safety plan providing them with necessary tools to deal with internet dangers, molestation (good touch/bad touch), domestic violence, abduction, gun safety, pedestrian, bike and vehicle safety. In the Community Safety Series, students will learn how to make their school, neighborhood and community safer. Topics include dealing with peer pressure, anti-bullying, anti-drug/alcohol, anti-gang and being a good citizen by doing good deeds every day. The series concludes with important communication tips that will help better the working relationship between police officers and the citizens they serve.

Also Included in the RVPD Safety & Crime Prevention DVD Series is the Facilitator's Guide CD-ROM. The Facilitators guide CD-ROM is designed to aid Educators in reinforcing the RVPD safety & crime prevention message. The RVPD Safety & Crime Prevention Series is divided into nine lessons, each covering an important aspect of safety & crime prevention. In the guide that follows, educators are provided with a brief overview of each of the nine video lessons located in the Synopsis Section. In addition, support curriculum is included and broken down into two lesson plans: Pre-K and Elementary (K-3.)

Each set of lesson plans include guided activities, classroom, academic, and coloring activities all of which support and enhance the learning and retention of the important safety & crime prevention points outlined in the videos. You can print the lesson plans and the activities right from the CD-ROM.
