This comprehensive DVD and print curriculum offers students a multifaceted resource that examines many important concepts about good mental and emotional health. In addition to seven mental health DVDs/videos created specifically for high school students, this curriculum offers a wealth of learning opportunities for classroom use. Extensive lesson plans include pre-and-post tests, activity sheets, self-assessment quizzes, research assignments, fact sheets and more. Topics include: What is good mental health? How can teens cope with stress and challenging life situations in a healthy, meaningful way? What are the most common emotional disorders that adolescents may face? What is therapy and how does it help? Special attention is given to anxiety disorders, depression, substance abuse disorders and eating disorders. The topic of “cutting” or self-injury is also examined in an age-appropriate manner. Curriculum includes a survey to give students insights into their own mental health.
