Exploring Viruses

This video takes students on a voyage of the human body and explains the role that viruses play. The structure of viruses is illustrated as students learn about antigens, DNA, capsids (protein coats) and capsomeres. Video shows how viruses invade bacteria by injecting themselves inside cells. Specific viruses are examined such as HIV, Ebola, polio and herpes. The role of our immune system in fighting viruses is also explored.
